Stories of our Lives – Women’s Therapy Group

Stories of our Lives

Women’s Therapy Group 2017

12 week group

Wednesdays 1.10 – 2.40pm

What does it mean to live well?

What are our known stories and narratives in our lives?  Are there familiar roles and patterns and story-lines we repeatedly live out?   What are the lesser known roles we might want to inhabit more?

What is the Women’s Therapy Group?

A weekly group for up to 6 women.   The group is a chance to share and explore experiences, feelings and thoughts about ourselves and our lives.  It gives opportunity to relate with others and gain insight and understanding about yourself.  We will use dramatherapy and creative arts techniques to explore and work with the themes in the group.

How will it be helpful to me?

By developing greater awareness and understanding of ourselves, it can support living more fully and with more choice in how we live.

The group will help find ways to be aware of our emotions and develop a language to express them.  It will be a space to explore and experience trust and communication. It will be a space to develop confidence and to think about how we value ourselves.

Who can join the group?

The group is for women who would like support with their mental health and well-being.

If you are interested in joining the group, you will be invited for 2 individual sessions prior to starting the group to see if it is an appropriate group for you.  This will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and explore joining the group.

The cost for the 12 week group is £240 – 360 (sliding scale) payable in advance.  The fee for the one-to-one sessions is £30 – £60 (sliding scale) per session. Further weekly or fortnightly individual sessions can be arranged as required prior to starting the group. Open group sessions are £20 – £30 per session.

The group will start as an open group with new women joining until there is a full group.  It will then be a closed group and run for 12 weeks.  Once closed, a commitment to attend the full 12 weeks is required.

Inquiries and initial individual assessments are taking place from January 2017.
