Volunteering Opportunities

As a charity, we value volunteers that assist our organisation to reach it’s maximum performance to help those in need. We understand how important volunteers are for us and support volunteers to learn, work and grow. Our Practice Manager has over 15 years office experience in various settings and is willing to train and support the volunteers on the job.

Where appropriate BTC may be willing to pay for public transport necessary for a volunteer to get to BTC.

Currently we have two Volunteering Opportunities within our Office:

  1. Office Administrator
  2. Digital Media and Marketing Volunteer

Office Administrator

We are looking for a volunteer administrator with minimum of 1 year experience in an office environment or minimum of 2 years academic experience. This is a volunteering opportunity in a mental health charity so we require someone who understands the confidentiality required for this setting in line with our values. Potential office administrator volunteer will be working 2 days of the week, supporting the Practice Manager in achieving digital archiving of all records.

Required skills:

  • Ability to multi task and perform administrative procedures with precision.
  • Organised and systematic with efficient admin skills.
  • Strong relationship skills – able to connect to a broad range of personalities including clients and practitioners.
  • Flexible and adaptable – able to respond to a variety of tasks .
  • Clear and pleasant phone and face to face manner.
  • Computer literate: MS Excel, MS Word, Gmail skills.
  • Ability to do electronic archiving by scanning and using our existing digital storage system.
  • Sensitively and confidentially managing client information.
  • Buzzing clients in when necessary.

Digital Media and Marketing Volunteer

We are looking for a Digital Media and Marketing volunteer who is potentially a university student in this field. This role is initially for 1 day a week, to be negotiated up to 2 days in the future. The Digital Media and Marketing volunteer would be managing social media presence and digital marketing tools to maximise our reach out to all communities accessible to us to make quality affordable therapy available to all parts of the community. Digital Media and Marketing Volunteer would be required to work with the Practice Manager towards clear outcomes identified together.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of BTC digital media platforms, including website, social media, Google Analytics, and Google Adwords campaigns.
  • Assist with analysis of data, reporting on effectiveness of new online initiatives and inbound activity, ensuring key findings and learnings are taken
  • Manage/monitor throughput from 3rd party agencies (NHS GP surgeries, Wellbeing services, Universities, other mental health charities (e.g. Mind). You will also have the opportunity to action ideas around how to capitalise on these relationships and increase client referrals.
  • Monitor and manage BCTs presence on multiple social platforms on a day to day basis
  • Work with BCTs Practice Manager to introduce cohesive marketing campaigns to run throughout the year
  • Assist in creating rich multimedia content that stimulates audience interaction, BTC awareness, traffic generation, and brings BTCs mission to life
  • Act as the key point of escalation to help quickly remove online issues which may prevent the BCT achieving set objectives
  • Assist in identifying and developing a network of trusted partners online, to improve BTC awareness and service offerings
  • Manage new initiatives which support traffic generation to BTC domains, optimisation and improving the online user experience.

Both of these roles will be available in our office based in central Brighton.
