Initial Consultation Sessions

Sometimes we are troubled and know we have problems but are very uncertain as to what exactly they are, or how we can be helped. BTC offers an in depth 50 minute consultation with an experienced and qualified therapist to talk through the issues and think about what type of therapy would be most helpful.

Following the consultation session, the therapist will consult with another senior practitioner to ensure we make the best possible recommendation, taking into account how complex the issues are,  your availability and your budget. This process usually takes up to three weeks.

How much does it cost?

The initial consultation costs £25  (£15 for those who are on benefits)  and lasts for 50 minutes.  BTC subsidises the cost of your initial consultation in order to make high quality therapy accessible to all, including those who could otherwise not afford it.

All our practitioners offer some of their time for free to make this possible.

Initial consultations related to specialist therapy such as family, couples, group and child therapy are charged at the normal rate of the practitioner between £50 – £85.

See our terms and conditions below for more information.

The cost of ongoing sessions, following the initial consultation, can be found here.

Terms and Conditions:

Prior to any treatment at the Brighton Therapy Centre, we ask our client to book an initial consultation with an experienced practitioner. The appointment takes up to 50 minutes and serves as an assessment of your current situation and needs. The waiting time is normally up to two weeks.

After your initial consultation, we aim to contact you within two weeks to inform you of our recommendations for treatment and an offer of therapy or counselling when appropriate. Please note that we cannot offer you ongoing therapy or counselling unless you are able to attend a regular weekly session at the same time each week.
